Jonathan Mann is this YouTube guy who writes a song a day. His YouTube channel has 1,291 videos, hand his entry for November 29, 2012 is a Hanukkah ditty called Nice King. Its a reference to a Cartoon Network show called Adventure Time about a magic infused post-apocalyptic world. The bearded, 1000 year-old Ice King character was made insane by his magic crown and his thing is to try and steal princesses and force them to marry him. Yes, this is a children’s show. And it’s popular. Jonathan’s treatment about a beardless Nice King lacks video pizzazz, but the song is sweet and soulful and urges the Nice King to celebrate Hanukkah and get the princesses to want to marry him. It’s very sweet, and surprisingly catchy!
