This was the scene Monday at 10 am on April 8, 2013 at Machaneh Yehudah, Jerusalem’s central market. Usually the market is loud and bustling but when the Holocaust Memorial Day siren went off, everything (mostly) stopped for two minutes. It’s a touching and unprecedented tribute that takes place throughout the country that commemorates the death of 6 million Jews at the hands of the Nazis. Even on highways the cars stop!
