Elana studies at Pardes. Jamie is a new immigrant to Israel. Both live in Jerusalem. This Hanukkah they decided to hit up a bakery a day and try and review the sufganiyot on offer at each. Today was day 1 and the first donuts came from the world famous Marzipan bakery in Machaneh Yehudah. Marzipan is famous for its chocolate ruggelach which Saveur Magazine listed as one of the 100 best foods in the world, and which annually are responsible for the addition of over 324,675 pounds of fat to the butts of seminary girls in Jerusalem each year.
