Hanukkah Songs Sung by a Goy

There are so many beloved Christmas songs composed by Jews. There’s “White Christmas,” music and lyrics by Irving Berlin, “The Christmas Song” (“Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire”), music and lyrics by Mel Tormé and Bob Wells, “Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow,” lyrics by Sammy Cahn, music by Julie Styne, “Winter Wonderland,” music and lyrics by Felix Bernard etc. etc. So it’s only fair that a non-Jew sings a selection of Hanukkah songs, right? I guess that’s what they figured on the Jimmy Kimmel Show when they got Jake Owen (not Jay Cohen), a country singer to pretend he was releasing an album of Hanukkah songs.

Well, I guess they meant well…
