Holocaust Remembrance Day at the Market in Jerusalem

April 12 was Holocaust Remembrance Day in Israel. On this day at 10 am throughout the country, a siren sounds and everyone stands still for two minutes in order to honor the memory of the victims of the Holocaust and to commemorate those who fought back. This was filmed in the busy Machaneh Yehudah market in Jerusalem. Seventy-two years after the end of WWII, anti-Semitism persists – one need only look at the comments on this video at YouTube. It boggles the mind. Thanks to Violet for helping with the cameras.

What holocaust? The one where Jews were fed better than the regular German population,? ~300K died, mostly due to typhus and Allies bombing of food lines. The real holocaust would be the nearly 2 million German POWs forced to starve to death and the German women down to age 8 getting raped after the war.
