Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah! By Metal Bee Gees Tribute Band?

I usually like a good tribute band. Not “love” or “adore” but a band masterfully covering music from another band they love – it’s ok! But then if they add a twist? The results can be very impressive. Think Dread Zeppelin – It’s a Led Zeppelin cover band, with a Reggae singing Elvis impersonator as the lead singer. That’s impressive, right?

Well, in that vein, allow me to introduce you to Tragedy – an “All Metal Tribute to the Bee Gees and Beyond!” The concept is certainly unique and the tunes are both familiar and a head banger’s paradise. So why are they on JewTube? Three reasons: 1) They are from New York where everybody is Jewish and 2) They spelled “Hanukkah” correctly and 3) They covered “Hanukkah oh Hanukkah” – a beloved Hanukkah classic sung by all kinds of Jews, all over the world during the holiday.

The aggressive metal stylings also help underscore the violent and gory nature of the actual story of Hanukkah. So, yeah… enjoy!
