Seth Rogen, Canadians, Jews and Thanksgiving

This clip features an animated Seth Rogen talking about how his Jewish family never celebrated Thanksgiving in Canada. He grew up believing that Thanksgiving was simply not celebrated by Jews at all. The reality is that Thanksgiving in Canada is not nearly as insane as it is in the US where it’s the biggest travel day of the year. Canadian Thanksgiving also takes place every year since 1957 on the 2nd Monday in October where it either directly conflicts with a Jewish High Holiday or comes at a time when Jewish families are already getting together and don’t exactly welcome yet another fussy, food-filled family affair. So Seth Rogen? If you’re reading this, now you know why your Canadian Jewish family wasn’t exactly stoked about Thanksgiving. I am however quite certain that Sandy and Mark were very thankful to be living in Canada nonetheless.
